Paraphrase:

• Re-writing a resourse in your own words. (2-4 sentences)
• Most often because it keeps your paper from sounding like a mix of voices.
• Read the source and put into your own words. DON'T change meaning.
• My Ex: In times of old, people were as tied to their names as their own lives. To lose a name would be to die. (Wilkinson 21)

Summary:

• Big idea to 15 words. GIST
• For an overview of info.
• Main point into one statment.
• My Ex: In past days a name was important, often showing the person's future or nature. (Wilikinson 21)

There are many ways to cite a source in-text. (Start with author, end with, state during.)

• Author+Quote+(Pg#).
• Author+(Pg#)+Quote.
• Quote+(Author+Pg#).

With Paraphrasing every word must be original.
